The Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association is very active and allows youth from Southern Ohio

to get together and be a part of a group. Our advisor is Cami Claypool.  We have monthly meetings to discuss things like fundraisers, youth show, and our NYATT team.

Our meetings aren’t like any usual meeting either; we usually have dinner and play a game at the beginning of it too!

We hold many fundraisers that support our NYATT team and the youth year end awards.

One of our main fundraisers is The Challenge, held every year in February. The Challenge not only kicks off the show season, we give away over $10,000 in Scholarship money at this horseshow  alone. It is a three judge, three day show.

Each year SOQHYA sends a team to compete in the National Youth Activity Team Tournament (NYATT) competition at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. SOQHYA pays for the entries, a new outfit, and gives monies

towards the stall/expenses for each youth. We place an ad in the Congress Souvenir program in support of our NYATT team and do a team photo at Congress. It is a great experience and we have fun with it each and every year!
